Johnson Ranch Elementary School – NOW OPEN!

Well-known to be one of the best school districts in the San Antonio area, the Comal Independent School District is rated a “Recognized” school district and all campuses in the district are fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Four schools are Exemplary and nine schools are Recognized. In addition, each year many CISD schools are recognized by the Texas Education Agency’s (TEA) Academic Excellence Indicator System for outstanding performance.

As a reflection of the commitment to providing the full community lifestyle, the developer donated a 16-acre school site to Comal ISD for a new elementary school. The convenience of the new $15 million Johnson Ranch Elementary School allows kids living in Johnson Ranch to walk or bike to school without ever getting on a major highway. The new Johnson Ranch Elementary is now officially open! The first day of school was August 24, 2009 with 570 elementary school kids starting their first day as Johnson Ranch Ropers.
